Project 1: The Abalone Collection (Jewelry & Home Decor)

We have unearthed a massive, gorgeous collection of natural abalone shell pieces split into two distinct, beautiful lots; giving artists a clear palette to work with:

• The Earth-Toned Rectangular Group (60 pieces): Featuring deep, moody, neutral-toned pieces with an organic rectangular shape.

• The Blue-Green Round Group (80 pieces): Featuring vibrant, iridescent pieces with rich blue-green flashes in smooth, rounded forms.

Because these materials have such a raw, natural, and grounded aesthetic, we are looking to partner with multiple creators to craft a curated line of jewelry and home decor for our Etsy Charity Shop and art exhibit, welcoming a diverse range of artistic styles and full creative freedom.

We want to see how these earthy elements can be reimagined across different mediums:

• For Jewelry Makers & Metalsmiths: Think wire-wrapping, unique settings, mixed metals, or cord accents that celebrate the shell’s natural beauty as wearable art.

• For Home & Decor Artists: Think tactile statement pieces; such as wall hangings, catch-all trays, pottery with inlays, or home accents that bring an artistic, one-of-a-kind vibe into living spaces.

The finished products will be split between the Art Show/Auction while the other half will be featured as signature "West End Originals" in our Charity Etsy Shop as well as on our website; ensuring every single creation is a true one-of-a-kind treasure, just like our dogs.

• Applications to collaborate on this project are open now through August 21, 2026, at 11:00 PM.

• To apply, submit your portfolio link or Instagram handle along with a brief 2-3 sentence description of your creative vision by completing the Application Form.

• Once selected, artists will have a 7-week project deadline from the date materials are received to complete their finished piece.
