Your Family Doesn’t Pick a Dog. The Dog Picks You.

A Different Kind of Adoption One Where the Dog Has the Final Say

Adoption Model

The Medical tier system

  • 01 Medical Assessment

Every Kindred and Coal dog is assigned a Medical Tier (1, 2 or 3) based on their current health needs and anticipated care over time. This transparency is intentional. We believe that informed families make committed families who don’t need to surrender their dog based on not knowing.

  • 02 Medical Tiers

Tier 1 - Generally healthy, routine care expected.

Tier 2 - Managed condition or elevate monitoring needs.

Tier 3 - Ongoing medical needs requiring dedicated care and budget.

  • 03 Financial Projection

Before you leave with your new family member, you’ll have something most adopter never get: a 5-year forecast of your dog’s needs; health projections based on breed and medical history, with realistic cost estimates that account for Toronto’s current veterinary landscape. You’ll go home informed, prepared, and confident, so you can make your decision with open eyes and a full heart.

Our first junction kinship session

Be One of the First in Canada.

We are looking for founding adoptive families; people who believe a dog deserves agency in the process that shapes the rest of their life.

2026 is our year of foundation. As we validate our behavioural model and build our Advisory Review Committee, every step leads toward our first Junction Kinship Session.

Planned for late 2026, this event will be captured for our YouTube documentary, not as a spectacle, but as a quiet, carefully designed encounter. With one dog and a small circle of science-matched families, we are creating a space where true kinship can happen. Here, we finally put our mission into practice: “Where the dog leads the way home.™"

Our full adoption program launches in late 2026/early 2027, but we are building our community now.

If you believe in a better way, one built on science, on consent, and on genuine kinship, we’d love to hear from you.
