Before we can welcome our first dog into care, we need to build the foundation that makes rescue possible: insurance, technology, training, supplies, and the systems that help us operate responsibly and sustainably.
Our founding-year fundraising goal for 2026 is $10,000. Every contribution helps us create the strong foundation needed to support dogs and the people who care for them.
No contribution is too small. Everyone who supports Kindred and Coal Dog Rescue during our founding year becomes part of our story, and we are deeply grateful for every gift, share, and act of encouragement possible. 💛 Make a Financial Donation
We accept financial donations through Zeffy, a platform built specifically for nonprofits. Zeffy charges 0% platform fees, which means your donation comes directly to Kindred and Coal Dog Rescue. You can choose to make a one-time, monthly, or annual contribution.
🏡 Donate a Venue or Creative Space
We are currently seeking small venues and creative spaces in Toronto's west end to host fundraising events.
We're planning a series of community-focused events, including art shows and charity auctions. If you have access to a suitable space and would like to donate its use for an evening, we would love to hear from you: partner@kindredandcoal.ca
🛍 Shop or Donate to Our Charity Shops
Our Charity Etsy Shop features curated items, with proceeds supporting the rescue. You might even find the perfect treasure for yourself or a thoughtful gift for someone else.
We also accept donations of items for our shop, particularly vintage and bohemian-inspired clothing, jewelry, bags, and home décor. If you have pieces that match the style of our shop, we'd be grateful to receive them.

Throughout the year we'll be hosting community events and fundraisers, all of which will be listed on our Events Page. Our next event will be an Art Show and Charity Auction, and we'd love to see you there.

My favorite change is replacing "building a rescue this city has never seen before" with language focused on building a strong foundation for dogs and the community. It feels more authentic, mission-driven, and aligned with the warm, grateful voice of a grassroots rescue.
